Description

Enchanting, love at first sight apartment in the heart of Budapest. Giant bedroom and enormous, sunny living room with full wall mirror, big enough to dance in, available from host. I am staying abroad most of the year, keeping one little room in a separate area. Optimal for individuals or a couple who want a huge space at a reasonable price in the heart of Budapest. This LOVELY, COZY, QUIET, CENTRAL, top floor apartment is easy to call a home. Inside: an especially warm, unique, eclectic chic atmosphere of a creative and relaxing space, with new things to discover in every nook and cranny. Outside: join the hustle and bustle at the centre of the city, with the best student, entertainment and tourist sites. The rooms The FLOOR PLAN: You step into a hallway as you arrive, continuing into the central kitchen and the dining area. The single room opens into the hallway near the entrance. The living-room and the bathroom open at the other end of the dining area. The double room opens from the living-room. The pictures will help you orient. All rooms and other areas have nice windows and get lots of light all year round. The LIVING-ROOM: chill out on the sofas or in the hammock, enjoy yoga pillows, the comfy yoga tatami, and the huge mirrors. The living-room may also be set up partially as a bedroom for the third person if separate people reserve, not a couple. The windows overlook a lovely tree, there is a bird-feeder in one of the windows, so all through the winter you can watch robins and other birds come for the seeds. Sharing the living-room facilities, there is lots of space for getting together with (hidden). The BEDROOM: with a huge, comfortable double bed, the veranda-like big windows get cool shade from the summer sun by the lush foliage of the tree. Mirrors and crystals surprise you with r(hidden)ows around noon when the sunshine lights up the room. A cosy armchair for reading by the window, a desk for your study, a dresser with a mirror to touch up your make-up. Lockable cupboards to store your stuff. The SINLGE ROOM: opening separately from the hallway, fit perfectly for a comfy student life, a bed, desk, cupboards, and a secret, raised lounging area for two. (This is the room I keep.) The KITCHEN and DINING AREA: vibrant and eco-friendly kitchen supplied with all necessary, fresh herbs to pick on the balcony. Sunny breakfast table for your “sunny side up”. eggs and coffee. The BATHROOM: neat, with great acoustics for singing under the shower, equipped with hairdryer and a washing machine. Nice, airy and light, with great acoustics for singing under the shower. Other things to note There is Wi-Fi, fast speed to serve your connection needs. The living-room has a set of loudspeakers you can connect to with your phone or laptop to enjoy the music. TV connection is possible, not installed in general, but possible at extra broadcasting costs. The kind of guests the apartment prefers LIFESTYLE: The apartment and the building is best suited for students and young professionals with a relaxed lifestyle. The inhabitants take care of shared areas in the house, this tranquil oasis in the centre of the city. There are lots of pubs and public places nearby to hold larger gatherings, noisy parties are not welcome in the house. Heavy drinking, antisocial behaviour and drug use would automatically terminate your opportunity of living here. Upon moving in, a deposit of a month’s rent is requested out of which the appropriate amount is withheld if belongings of the apartment are damaged. SMOKING: The apartment has never been smoked in, and we prefer to keep it so. Non-smoking guests will find it delightfully suited to their needs. ACCESS: The apartment is on the 4th floor, easy to get up to with the elevator. Then you get to the apartment door walking around the balcony. We love it that it is the last in the row because no other inhabitants walk in front of it. Added benefits: there is no city noise, the air quality is better up here and the apartment gets sunshine all year round. If you are a person with extreme fear of heights, consult me beforehand. The neighbourhood around the apartment PUBLIC TRANSPORT: You will be living in the so called PALACE QUARTER of Budapest. Just stepping outside the gate, you can join the festival in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Most tourist sites at walking distance, with the Bu-Bi bikes that you can pick up in stalls all around, you can surely get around easily. Public transport stops are all around. All 4 metro lines, trams number 4-6, 47, 49, buses, train stations are near. Even bus number 100E which brings you from the airport is 5 minutes’ walk away. The amazing thing is that this apartment is so central and still so very chill  Parking is not free in this area, but we can always figure out some solution, there are parking places to rent in parking plots nearby. Let us hope that Covid loosens its grip on social life and we all can enjoy public gatherings again. I am sharing a lot of info here, some opportunities might be less available if lockdown happens again. STUDENT LIFE: several universities (ELTE, Corvinus, Semmelweis, Karolyi, etc.) are here, reachable on foot, on this or on the other side of the Danube. The Central Szabó Ervin Library is just opposite our building, it has the most beautiful rococo reading rooms and a hall of mirrors for study, and lots and lots of English books. Semmelweis Medical Library is also round the corner. Pubs, places to hang out with fellow students are all around. ENTERTAINMENT: near us is the National Museum, and most other museums can be reached easily on foot or a short trip via public transport. The popular Ráday Street with restaurants and pubs, designer shops, cinemas, and Váci Street for shopping sprees. There are shopping centres, many with cinemas at a walking distance. If you walk the nearby bridge over the Danube, you can choose which lovely spa to enjoy, the art nuoveau Gellért or the freshly refurbished Rudas from Turkish times. A walk up Gellért Hill rewards you with a postcard panoramic view of the city. The legendary ‘RUIN PUBS’, open air cafes and restaurants are a stone’s throw away. GROCERIES: the famous indoor CENTRAL MARKET is 8 min. walk. There is an ALDI with all the necessary stuff open for long hours under a neighbouring house. There are shops open 24-7 just 6 min walk away. SPORTS: Lots of indoor and outdoor places to workout. Swimming pools are available in nearby spas, some open in winter too. Jog along the running track along the Danube or Margaret Island, do some cardio hiking up Gellert hill, catch the sunset from the top, or take a blanket and chill out on the grass in Károlyi Gardens, or the lush green park around the National Museum. The living-room of the apartment itself also is equipped with workout and yoga possibilities(hidden)ANIC, VEGAN, ECO-FRIENDLY, ALLERGIC? There are organic food shops and organic restaurants nearby. You can find vegan, vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free products in shops, retaurants, cafes and ice-cream parlours. I can provide you with a starting list. What others say: (Ben) A truly excellent experience. The flat is charming and in a very good location for exploring the city. It also happens to be super simple to get there from the airport. The bed was unusually comfortable and the whole place had a warm, relaxing Bohemian vibe. Spacious and with a good working kitchen the flat was a superb base for our stay. Budapest is a very interesting city and if you make the trip then I heartily recommend staying here. You’ll love it. (Mary) Agnes' apartment is wonderful, located in the city center and yet absolutely quiet except for the leaves in the wind in front of the windows. It is supercozy and Agnes is a fantastic host! You will get all the support and all the privacy you want plus great inspiration if you so wish. Definitely will be back!! (Hanna) We had a wonderful time in Budapest and a lot thanks to the apartment. The apartment is light and spacious and gives a welcoming, harmonic and cosy feeling. The location is perfect. I would also say that's child-friendly because of the elevator and the big rooms. Agnes was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone! (Raquel) I couldn't be happier with this home and my stay here. Location, size and beauty is even better in real life. The tranquillity was everything to me. Close to everything but away from the street noise. It was so nice to be in a comfortable home with so much character that made me feel I was in a different place instead of a generic hotel room. I didn't want to leave. Agnes was so kind and more helpful than I could ever expect and made trip so enjoyable, comfortable, easy, and one I will never forget. Feel free to ask me questions that come to your mind. Looking forward to welcoming you in Budapest in this lovely apartment....

How to book this property

When you find a property you like it's fairly simple to make a booking. Both the tenant and the landlord need to confirm before completing a booking. This is how it works:

  1. Select your dates to check for availability.
  2. Contact the landlord by clicking on the contact button.
  3. Introduce yourself to the landlord. Ask any questions you might have.
  4. When you are ready to book, send a booking request.
  5. When the landlord approves and the payment is completed, you have successfully booked the property.

You don’t need to perform a viewing on HousingAnywhere, here's why:

  1. All of the properties on HousingAnywhere have pictures and a clear description. If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the landlord.
  2. Restricting viewings provides equal chances for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad.
  3. HousingAnywhere makes sure the property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the landlord after you have successfully moved in.
After you have made a booking, the contact details of the landlord will be shared with you. You can get in touch with the landlord directly, or keep using the HousingAnywhere chat. All the successive rental costs can be paid securely through HousingAnywhere.
