Koukaki is situated at (hidden) of Filopappos Hill and is primarily a residential area. Although it is very close to the many ancient monuments and museums, Koukaki retains its local color and, for this reason, it is a much sought-after location for visitors. The area has a variety of supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, launderettes/dry cleaners, hairdressers, etc. literally around the corner.
