Just a few steps away is the square housing the famous Duomo of Florence. Being in the heart of the historical city centre allows you to visit all the monuments comfortably on foot. You will also find many shops (especially on Via Tornabuoni), bars and all the amenities of a modern city. Tourist attractions The flat is located in the Duomo area in Florence's historic centre. The Duomo area constitutes the authentic heart of Florence and takes its name from Brunelleschi's famous dome that finishes the majestic cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Around the Duomo are countless historical buildings and beautiful squares such as the San Lorenzo Market, the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza della Repubblica, famous for its historical bars, pastry shops, live music performances and street artists. In addition, the area is surrounded by the main Florentine monuments, namely Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, the Bargello Museum and Buonarroti House, the birthplace of the famous Michelangelo, without forgetting the Uffizi Gallery and the museum dedicated to the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore called 'Museo dell'Opera del Duomo'. This area also has a lot to offer in terms of places to eat and exclusive boutiques. In fact, the shops of the biggest names in Italian fashion, Salvatore Ferragamo , Armani, Versace, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany and Co. and many others, can be found along Via Tornabuoni, Via Calzaiuoli and Via del Corso. For those who choose a flat in this area, it will be easy to find a place to eat thanks to the many grocery shops, supermarkets, laundries, banks, pharmacies and gift shops and you are always well connected by public transport. Parking The centre of Florence is a ZTL zone which means 'restricted traffic zone' and therefore special rules apply when entering this area. This particular flat is in fact within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are planning to come to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay particular attention to road signs, CCTV cameras and camera access (they will show a red/green light) to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their flat are advised to use a private garage. Thanks to the private garage, you will obtain a temporary access permit. When arriving at the garage, guests must specify that they need access to the ZTL zone and the garage will then take note of the vehicle's number plate and forward it to the relevant police station. Public Transport Public bus service in Florence is provided by 'Ataf'. The nearest bus stop to the house is in Via Vecchiettia about 3 minutes' walk, and the bus is no. 6 or 11. Otherwise you can always call a taxi using the number (hidden). Interior Description This modern flat (200 sqm) is internally arranged on two levels. As soon as you enter the flat you are greeted by the bright living area, which overlooks the dome of the Duomo of Florence. On your right is the well-equipped kitchen and from here, in a separate utility room, you will find the washing machine which is also a tumble dryer. The living room you find as you enter the house is also a dining room with a table for 8 people. From this level you can climb 12 steps of a staircase to the upper floor where there is another small living room with roof windows and two sofas. Here is also the first double bedroom (mattress width 160 cm - beds cannot be divided). This room is not separated by doors or walls and overlooks the living room on the upper level. Also on this level is the first bathroom with bathtub. Returning to the living room on the lower level, it is possible to access another living room through an archway where the flat-screen TV is located. From this room you can climb 10 steps that will take you to the second bedroom where the ceiling is 1.65 metres high (mattress width 160 cm - beds cannot be divided), which overlooks the living room downstairs. Returning to the lower level you will find a corridor leading to the third bedroom (mattress width 160 cm - beds cannot be divided), which can be closed off with a sliding door.
