Lisboa, Portugal On the doorstep is the Bairro Alto district, one of the most picturesque districts of Lisbon, dating from the 16th century, and has been traditionally a bohemian haven of artists and writers of the city. Located in the city centre, go out and walk a few meters to discover this area of endearing streets with pastel-painted buildings with a few nice restaurants and bars but is mostly known for its garden with a terrace offering amazing river views. The main shopping streets are Rua do Norte, Rua da Atalaia and Rua Diário de Noticias, where it is easy to get to the Sightseeing of São Pedro de Alcântara and two of the most interesting churches from the city: São Roque with its magnificent baroque interior and the romantic Gothic ruins of Carmo Church. The main element of this garden is the stone figure of Adamastor, a mythical sea monster from the epic poem "Os Lusíadas." There are also pleasant cafes where locals go to admire the dawn view and sunset over the Tagus river. During the day take a walk through the quiet streets of colourful facades with a wide range of traditional and international restaurants, crafts, Gourmet shops, alternative shops, and music stores open until 00h. At night, especially on weekends, the neighbourhood undergoes a radical transformation, the streets fill up with people, which is easy to make new friends of all ages, backgrounds, and lifestyles. It's a fun walk through the streets in this bustle with a drink in hand, enjoying the usual balmy evenings and listening to the music echo through the streets coming from the famous fado clubs and bars. Chiado is the surrounding neighbourhood, an elegant and sophisticated neighbourhood with excellent theatres, bookstores, cafes, antique style jewellery art, national and international fashion designers shops, and the Armazéns do Chiado shopping centre, among many other offerings. Much of this area was destroyed in the fire of 1988 but has since been recovered. Continuing to be the most beloved neighbourhood of Lisbon, with memories of the past as the centre of intellectual life in the city where we can see the status of literary figures such as Fernando Pessoa, Luis de Camoes, and Eça de Queiroz. Climbing a bit you'll find the Principe Real, a neighbourhood known for its antique shops, interior design shops, and also for being the gay district of the city with numerous bars and clubs. In the streets of the Garden of Principe Real, if we are toward the river, will find beautiful villas from the 19th century and some of the most peaceful places in the city such as Praça das Flores. How to book this property

When you find a property you like it's fairly simple to make a booking. Both the tenant and the landlord need to confirm before completing a booking. This is how it works:

  1. Select your dates to check for availability.
  2. Contact the landlord by clicking on the contact button.
  3. Introduce yourself to the landlord. Ask any questions you might have.
  4. When you are ready to book, send a booking request.
  5. When the landlord approves and the payment is completed, you have successfully booked the property.

You don’t need to perform a viewing on HousingAnywhere, here's why:

  1. All of the properties on HousingAnywhere have pictures and a clear description. If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the landlord.
  2. Restricting viewings provides equal chances for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad.
  3. HousingAnywhere makes sure the property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the landlord after you have successfully moved in.
After you have made a booking, the contact details of the landlord will be shared with you. You can get in touch with the landlord directly, or keep using the HousingAnywhere chat. All the successive rental costs can be paid securely through HousingAnywhere.
