Located in the heart of Florence, in the historic center on the second and third floor of a building built in 1600, of only three floors. All the palaces in Via della Scala were built to accommodate pilgrims who traveled along the Via Francigena in the Middle Ages and stopped in Florence. Via Della Scala is dedicated to the Scala di San Gregorio, protector of pilgrims and all travelers. In the perpendicular street there is the elementary school of the Orti Oricellari, famous because, among many others, a very young Niccolò Macchiaveli studied there.
