General Information

Campus facilities

One of the most convenient things about this campus is that it actually contains two schools at this primary location. Evry contains both the Télécom SudParis and the Télécom Management School. However, both of the schools are separate entities, with completely different management teams and administrative offices.

But the humanities and language courses at both schools are actually linked, along with a number of specialty courses that are offered at both of the schools. What makes this campus really special is that both schools also share the exact same student associations and organizations. This makes student life at the campus very unique, with many different possibilities.

Located just 35 km from Paris, Télécom Business School’s campus is quite large, covering six hectares. You will also find the school’s sister engineering school, Télécom SudParis , at this location as well. This convenient campus also offers many activities, along with secured entrances and exits for the safety of the students.

The campus also boasts wonderful facilities, offering complete access to students. Along with a challenging, vibrant campus environment, this provides students with the necessary tools that they will need to succeed in both their social and academic lives.

The following facilities are available:

  • 3 lecture halls and 51 classrooms

  • 60 student organizations and associations

  • 32 computer rooms and 5 language centres

  • A multimedia centre with state-of-the-art equipment

  • Small Business Incubator for entrepreneurs and business students

  • A restaurant and cafeteria, plus a student activity centre with a game room and a bar

  • Over 800 accommodation units, including both studios and apartments

  • Sports Facilities include a gymnasium, a basketball court, three tennis courts, a workout room, a soccer/rugby field and a beach volley court

  • A student radio station, EvryOne, which is rated the second station in France

International dimension

The international dimension of a university is one of our specialties, and it’s a very important part of what makes Télécom SudParis unique. In fact, it’s one of the university’s greatest concerns.

French students at Télécom SudParis are required to study for a total of at least three months abroad to receive their diplomas. However, a longer length of time is always encouraged, as that it is highly important for students to illustrate that they can easily adapt to different cultures and ways of life. This will offer substantial support when they are immersed in a global market.

Télécom SudParis readily accepts incoming international students who wish to study for several time periods, whether it be for three months, one or two semesters or even longer periods of one to two years. International students form a large portion of the student community at 25,3%. Typically, they opt to live directly on the university’s campus, making it easy to partake in the bustling French student life. Many choose to participate in Welcome, an association that forms connections between the local French students and the international students. On top of all of this, each year in November, the university hosts an international week, packed with events to represent the multiple cultures on campus.

How to get to the university

Télécom SudParis and its campus are conveniently and easily accessible through public transportation.

You may take the D line of the RER, exiting at Evry-Courcouronnes Centre. Once there, exit through the main hall and take a left on Boulevard des Coquibus. Next, turn left onto Rue Charles Fourier. Another option is to take Bus 408 from the central station.

Student Neighbourhoods

Courcouronnes is the most popular student neighborhood, where just about all of the different universities and their campuses in Evry are located. Keep in mind that all of the cities are very close to one another, with Evry being a very small town, which is located in the suburbs of Paris. While there are not specific neighborhoods that students tend to find housing in, they do generally like to stay as close to the universities as possible, or near to the city centre and its many attractions.

Common housing practices

Many of the housing options in France will be offered as an unfurnished option. However, you should be able to find several furnished rooms or studio apartments, although they are in high demand and will be more expensive than unfurnished spaces. Yet, they are much more convenient for shorter stays, such as when students are only studying abroad for one semester. Be sure to reply immediately to any advertisements for furnished units, because they definitely don’t last for long!

Once you set up a rental agreement with your new landlord, there will be a checklist for both parties to go over before you actually move into the property. Once you move out, you will also review the same checklist, just to ensure that everything is in the same state as it was when moving in. This is a very common practice in France, and you will experience this with both rental agencies and private landlords. Both the student and the landlord will sign the contract, and a deposit will usually be required.

You will find a large variety of housing options in Evry, but it’s always best to be prepared. Be sure to check Housing Anywhere to find the perfect space.

Student associations

Télécom SudParis has many student organizations and associations to help with any transitions that international students might experience. As a "Grande Ecole" in France, Télécom SudParis boasts one of the most vibrant student scenes in the area, offering over 55 associations and clubs.

You will find that student clubs are divided in three ways: with the BDE for all social activities, the BDS (called As’INT) for all sporting activities and the BDA for all activities associated with the arts.

For sporting activities, the pompom club, called Pomp’INT, is very popular, winning several challenges each year. Students will have access to a gym, tennis courts, workout areas and weight and cardio rooms, along with basketball and beach volleyball courts. When it comes to organized activities, the office presiding over sports, ASINT, sets up the Open IMT, which is a tennis tournament between the schools that is held each year.

There is a myriad of other tournaments for students to look forward to, including E-loquence, which is a rhetoric contest held at Evry.

But when it comes to the arts, this is where the associations really excel! Being a very musical school, students can expect many clubs, such as chorus, musical comedy and more. Students may also have use of the grand pianos, along with expert instruction.

There is also the junior company, SPRINT.

And if you’re looking for a humanitarian association, INTervenir is a wonderful option! They even build houses for needy families in Nicaragua each summer.
