HousingAnywhere Rent Guarantee

HousingAnywhere launches Rent Guarantee, boosting tenant acceptance rates by 42%

Student rental platform HousingAnywhere introduces a new insurance-backed solution that allows tenants to secure homes without local proof of income and protects landlords against damage—increasing acceptance rates by 42%.

HousingAnywhere Rent Guarantee

Rotterdam, March 17, 2026 - A recent survey by student rental platform HousingAnywhere confirms that beyond high prices and limited supply, intense competition and stringent application requirements are among the most significant barriers young people face when searching for housing in Europe.

To address these hurdles—particularly for international students—HousingAnywhere has launched Rent Guarantee. This insurance-backed solution functions as a digital guarantor for tenants who lack local proof of income, while simultaneously protecting landlords against property damage or payment defaults.

“Every young person deserves the opportunity to study abroad; it is an experience that is enriching, transformative, and full of potential. Housing should never be the barrier to that journey,” says Antonio Intini, CEO of HousingAnywhere. “International students often struggle to demonstrate financial reliability in a new country, while landlords may hesitate to accept tenants without local references. Rent Guarantee bridges this trust gap, strengthening tenant applications and giving landlords the confidence to confirm bookings.”

Digital guarantors boost rental acceptance rates by 42%

Rent Guarantee is currently active in France, Munich, and Barcelona. During its pilot phase, tenants using Rent Guarantee saw a 42% increase in acceptance rates compared to those applying without it. Following this initial success, HousingAnywhere plans to expand the product across Spain and Germany, further improving access to housing and accelerating the rental journey for both tenants and landlords.

How Rent Guarantee works

  • For Tenants: When applying for a property, tenants can opt for Rent Guarantee as a substitute for a traditional local guarantor. The service is available for a small one-time fee and significantly strengthens applications in competitive rental markets.
  • For Landlords: The service is provided at no additional cost. It offers comprehensive coverage against property and furniture damage, unpaid rent, and potential legal fees related to tenancy disputes.

Rent Guarantee complements HousingAnywhere’s existing Tenant Protection suite, which ensures secure online payments by holding the first month’s rent until 48 hours after move-in. Combined with rigorous fraud prevention, identity verification, and dedicated support, these solutions significantly reduce friction and eliminate uncertainty in the rental process. Rent Guarantee represents a decisive step in building the trust necessary for a seamless, high-commitment rental journey, marking the beginning of a new chapter in HousingAnywhere’s best-in-class security and protection proposition.
