HousingAnywhere in Deloitte Fast 50 for third year in a row

HousingAnywhere again fastest growing company in Rotterdam

Rotterdam, 26 November 2020 - HousingAnywhere, Europe's largest housing platform for young professionals and international students, ranked 26th with a revenue growth of 464% between 2016 and 2019. This is the third time in a row that HousingAnywhere has been nominated for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, an annual ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in the Netherlands. Djordy Seelmann, CEO of HousingAnywhere:

We achieved this growth by maintaining our long-term vision of developments in the rental market, and thanks to a team that simply delivers a great performance. For too long, the rental industry has been devoid of technological innovation. I am convinced that with this growing team we can continue to innovate and make the housing market function structurally better.

Bart de Vries, partner at Deloitte and programme leader of the Technology Fast 50:

2020 is a very special and also tough year for many organisations. Start-ups and scale-ups are looking for knowledge, money and partners to further grow their business, especially in these times. It is great that we can give innovative organisations extra recognition through this award.

Year of unprecedented growth

HousingAnywhere launched its API and Payments online payment solution for rent, deposit and other rent-related charges in 2019. In January 2020, HousingAnywhere announced the acquisition of Studenten-WG, a major student housing website in Germany. In February, the acquisition of Rentmate, the largest accommodation website in Iceland, an emerging destination for students and young professionals, was announced. In March, HousingAnywhere's rapid European expansion came to a halt when international travel was severely curtailed due to the pandemic. After seeing a 90% drop in bookings in the first wave of the pandemic, HousingAnywhere saw booking growth return over the summer and is currently back on track to deliver more bookings in 2020 than in 2019. Moreover, HousingAnywhere's operations in their focus cities were profitable in 2018 and remained profitable throughout 2020. To further facilitate its growth, HousingAnywhere will expand its focus cities and team in 2021, as well as move to an office of around 2600 mᒾ.
