It is a neighborhood with a lot of diversity, as opposed to people who were born and raised in the neighborhood as foreigners who have decided to move to Barcelona. The Barceloneta is known as an old fisherman neighbourhood and has continued its tradition up to now, family owned restaurants with a variety of seafood and traditional spanish tapas/dishes. As well as artisanal bakeries that use eco and organic ingredients to bake delicious croissants, bread, plum cakes (my favourite is the organic matcha cake, you should try it! From Baluard Barceloneta) Additionally, big supermarkets (such as condis, lidl, caprabo... ) and local shops are 3-5 minutes away. It is a neighborhood with great night activity, especially in summer. The pubs and clubs are concentrated on the promenade and the beach area so the noise does not reach the residential area.
