Via Savona is located in one of the city’s most interesting areas, between Solari, Tortona, Porta Genova and the Navigli. It is not just a postcard neighborhood: it is a lived-in area with a strong identity, where former industrial spaces, showrooms, creative studios, galleries, offices, restaurants and bars coexist with supermarkets, gyms, local cafés and useful everyday services. The Tortona-Savona area is known as one of Milan’s main hubs for design, fashion and creativity, shaped by the transformation of old industrial spaces into showrooms, lofts, studios and cultural venues. During events such as Design Week, the neighborhood becomes one of the city’s most active spots, while throughout the rest of the year it maintains a good balance between urban energy and residential life. The Navigli and Porta Genova are also nearby, perfect for going out in the evening, walking along the canal, having dinner out or quickly reaching other central areas. At the same time, Via Savona remains more practical and less chaotic than the most touristy streets around the Navigli: a good combination for anyone living in Milan for work or study. The area is well served by public transport: Porta Genova and Sant’Agostino are nearby and make it easy to reach the city center, Cadorna, Garibaldi, Centrale and the main university areas. The Tortona/Savona area is also served by trams and surface transport, with useful connections toward Porta Genova, Sant’Agostino and the central parts of the city. The M2 metro line makes it easy to travel toward Cadorna, Garibaldi, Centrale, Lambrate and Romolo, while trams and buses allow quick access to the historic center, the Navigli, Sant’Ambrogio and the Bocconi area. Nearby universities: Travel times may vary slightly depending on the exact point of Via Savona and the time of day, but approximately: - NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Very easy to reach: about 10–15 minutes by public transport or by bike. The Savona/Tortona area is one of the most convenient locations for NABA students, also because it keeps you close to the Navigli and to one of Milan’s most creative districts. - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore About 15–20 minutes by public transport, or around 10–15 minutes by bike. The Milan campus of Cattolica is located in Largo Gemelli, in the Sant’Ambrogio area, which is easy to reach from Savona / Porta Genova. - Bocconi University About 20–25 minutes by public transport, or around 15–20 minutes by bike. The Bocconi campus is located in Via Sarfatti, in the south-central part of Milan, and can be reached comfortably by tram, bus or bike through the Navigli / Darsena area...
