Hi! I'm moving to Brussels for work from September to March and am subletting my flat on Schulterblatt, right in the middle of the Schanze, for that period. It's fully furnished and equipped, and I'd be glad to know it's in good hands while I'm away. The flat 65 sqm on the top floor of an old Hamburg building, with wooden floors throughout. Two rooms, a central hallway and a generous kitchen, and a bathroom with both a bath and a shower. One thing to know upfront: it's the fifth floor and there is no lift, so the stairs are part of the deal. There's no balcony either, but there is direct access to the roof, which is quietly the best thing about the place. Everything you need is already here, so you can move in with a suitcase: bed, sofa bed, dining table, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and a TV. If you'd like to bring your own things, or if you'd rather have something taken out, just say so and we'll sort it. Behind the kitchen there's a small office. I'll be locking that room and storing my personal things in there, so the 65 sqm above is the space you can actually use. If you work from home, I'm happy to move the desk, with a monitor if you want one, into one of the two rooms. There's no cellar storage, unfortunately. The neighbourhood You can't really live more centrally in Hamburg. The streets around the flat have everything you could want and everything you actually need: cafés, restaurants, bars and small shops, but also supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries. Sternschanze S-Bahn and U-Bahn station is a few minutes away, along with several bus lines, so the rest of the city is easy to reach. The Schanze is a lively part of town and that's rather the point of it. On the fifth floor you're far enough above it all to sleep well. Practical details The period is fixed: 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027. I need the flat back in April, so I'm afraid I can't be flexible on the dates. The rent is 1,825 € per month, all inclusive. Utilities, electricity and internet are covered, there's no annual reconciliation and no additional payment at the end. Deposit: 2,500 €. We'll sign a proper sublease, and I'll provide it in both German and English so you know exactly what you're signing. I have written permission from the building management, and I'll give you a landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung), so you can register your address in Hamburg in the normal way. That matters if you're moving here for work or studies, since a lot of things follow from it. The flat is very comfortable for one person and works well for a couple. Pets are something we'd need to discuss, though it would be simpler without. About me I'll be in Brussels for the whole period. When I'm in Hamburg I stay with my girlfriend, so the flat is entirely yours. I'm reachable by phone and email, and there are people here who can step in quickly if anything comes up. I'm on holiday right now and back in Hamburg from 10 August. From then on we can do a video tour and go through the details. Do tell me a bit about yourself and what brings you to Hamburg...
