Let us guide you through the steps to your empadronamiento in Barcelona.

What is the empadronamiento (padrón) in Spain?

Your empadronamiento (also called 'padrón') is your registration at the town hall to let your municipality keep a record of where and with whom you live in Spain.

With the padrón you receive a document with your registered address in Spain. And what's in it for you? You use this certificate for your immigration process and administrative tasks later on.

If you live in Spain for more than 183 days per year (or 6 months per year), you have to be registered at the local municipality.

Why do I need to get empadronamiento in Barcelona?

It's important for the municipality to stay up to date with the registration and the number of its residents. Yet it's equally valuable for you to register at the city hall in Spain.
