This palace is very sunny, with plenty of light and large windows in most of the rooms, kitchen, and living room. The wood broadly used indoors and on floors provide this palace with a very cozy ambiance. Most bedrooms have a balcony and the building has one elevator. The Holstein Palace is located in the city center, right in the privileged heart of the city. The Holsteins, a Portuguese aristocratic family, gave their name to this charming palace. Most of the rooms overlook the beautiful garden “Jardim das Amoreiras” and also have a view of the “Águas Livres” Aqueduct. Close to you are a few of the most interesting neighborhoods in Lisbon: Rato, Príncipe Real, Bairro Alto, Amoreiras, Campo de Ourique, and Estrela. The subway is 100 meters from your doorstep as are the bus and tram running in all directions. The location of this palace is so very special that makes us define it as an eclectic, bohemian, authentic, and alternative area. During the day, all of these neighborhoods are quite busy, because of those who work there, who live there, and all the curious tourists. At night, the streets fill up with people from all over, going up and down from bar to bar between Príncipe Real and Cais do Sodré. In between them, you will enjoy Bairro Alto, which remains one of the strongholds of Lisbon nightlife. Príncipe Real is the coolest neighborhood of the moment. It has several gardens nearby, many terraces, shops and great access to the whole city.
