Hello, my name is Tom. Next year (fall semester), I'll go on exchange to Mannheim university. During is period, I obviously won't use my room, while a visiting student might need one for the semester. One and other sounds like a good mach! My room is situated in the neighbourhood of Lage Land, about 20-25 minutes away from the university (by bike, when you pedal quick). There is also a metro station near (about 5-10 minutes by feet). For the city center you'll have to cycle about 30-45 minutes (depending of your destination), or you take the metro (10-30 minutes). Next to my room there is a little shopping center, including two supermarkets (1 minute by feet). In this shopping center the market is organised every Friday. On 15 minutes by feet (or 5 by bike) there is a big shopping center (the biggest in the Netherlands). The railroad station (station Rotterdam Alexander) and an office of the municipality are also situated near that shopping center.
