The family is going on a two month holiday and we will be renting out our cherished home while away. This property is a fully furnished home, not a commercial rental unit, so although we will empty closets etc. the flat comes with personal items. Therefore we're looking for reliable and trustworthy tenants who will appreciate and take good care of our precious home. The house is ideal for a family, but it might also suit two or three individuals, each with their own bedroom and shared communal areas. The property is a 118 year old wooden house right in the city center and in restoring it we have tried to preserve its original style. The apartment is on two main floors plus a laundry room in the basement. The first floor consists of a living room, kitchen, WC and a bedroom, with a double bed. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single bed, as well as a bathroom with a double bathtub and a shower. In addition there is a small study. The master bedroom has a balcony, overlooking the garden. We have a friendly cat, Snúður, and ideally he would continue to live in the apartment while we are away. If that is not suitable we can arrange for him to be cared for by a neighbor. However, we cannot promise that he won't visit, so if you are allergic or don't like cats this house is not a good option. The neighborhood is lively but our street is a quiet residential street. Around us are numerous restaurants, stores, cafés and bars. The apartment is in the old part of Reykjavík and within a walking distance from many museums and sites of interest, for example Hallgrímskirkja, Harpan and the shopping street of Laugavegur...
