The residents have given a second youth to the area which has since seen numerous parks and cultural sites spring up. A short glide through the Croix Rousse tunnel (dedicated to eco-friendly transport modes such as bikes, roller-skates and pedestrians) makes for easy riding to the Tête d'Or park, while the newly-renovated banks of the river Saône, ideal for running or a lovely afternoon stroll, allows an easy connection between the Hôtel de Ville and Vieux-Lyon neighbourhoods.
