THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Vista Alegre is one of the safest and most central areas of Murcia. • Supermarkets (Dialprix – 1 min, Mercadona – 4 min), pharmacy, bakeries, and shops all nearby. • Main shopping area (Zara, Mango, El Corte Inglés) within 10 min walk. • Plaza Circular (tramways and buses to UCAM/UMU): 4 min walk. • La Merced Campus (student hub with cafés and bars): 5 min walk. TRANSPORT • Walking distance to everywhere in the city • Bus and tram stops within 4 minutes (perfect for UCAM, UMU) IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT MURCIA Living in the city centre is much more convenient than living near the university campuses, which are outside the city. From here you can enjoy the full student and social life Murcia has to offer, while transport to the universities is simple and cheap. Living near campus often means isolation and extra taxi costs to enjoy the city in the evening (public transport is very limited outside class hours). Also, Murcia gets extremely hot in summer and the cold is humid in winter — having air conditioning and heating is essential.
