It’s considered to be an upscale neighbourhood with restaurants and bars catering to locals. There is a lovely market on Saturdays nearby Zuidermarkt behind the Concertgebouw building. The amsterdam institution – Restaurant Loetje attracts locals for the famous Dutch steak – we recommend oyu try it. Nearby you will find wide avenues and greenery of the famous Vondelpark (20 minute walk) and Museumplein – home of the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk.
