You will be staying in my 2 bedroom flat on a sleepy street in Campanha. Only a short 12 minute walk (or a quick Uber if you have a fair bit of luggage) from Campanha's Metro and Coach Station. You will also be a 12 minute walk from Estádio do Dragão Metro, home of our football team Porto! At Praça da Corujeira you will find all the shops you need. You might be pleasantly surprised by the quality of our local bakeries — I counted 5 within a 10 minute walk and still can't make up my mind about which one makes the best torrada com manteiga (buttery toast). The area is semi-rural. By that I mean you will wake up to church bells, the sound of roosters crowing, and a blissful sunrise from the east-facing balcony. From there you will see a lot of greenery spread over my neighbour's allotments, where they grow their fruit and vegetables. You will also spot the Igreja de Campanha and its cemetery — less creepy than it sounds, I promise. The flat is spacious, with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are at garden level, cool and quiet, with colourful walls and white furniture that keep things feeling bright and fresh. At the bottom of the road you have access to the Quinta de Bonjoia, a property built in 1759 and now open to the public, with Camellia gardens, Eucalyptus woodland, and a basketball court and football pitch. A 20 minute walk will take you to Parque Oriental, which leads to the Rotunda do Freixo and the banks of the River Douro. Head east and you'll find the Museu da Imprensa, the Palácio do Freixo, riverside workout stations, cafes, restaurants, and the Praia Fluvial de Gramido. Head west along the marginal — a lovely 2 mile walk — and you'll reach the iconic bridges that make this city so special, including the Ponte Dom Luís, and the historic riverside quarter of Ribeira. The heart of the flat is the front room: a king-size sofa, an abundance of natural light, and views to die for. You will also enjoy a bright kitchen equipped with a brand new fridge and washing machine. Booking: rent is paid one month in advance through the platform.
