Try a typical Portuguese breakfast, ask for “um galão com pão Torrado” (tall milky coffee served in a glass with toasted Portuguese bread) Within a short walk is Casa da Guia with all of its specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants & cafés offering afternoon refreshments overlooking the sea with wonderful views up to the Cascais marina. Getting around The area around the house is well served by public transport. There is a bus service (called BusCas); this runs regularly throughout the day, to the center of Cascais and around the Cascais area with its main stop at the Cascais train station. From here you can get a train to Lisbon in 30 minutes along the beautiful coastline, or a bus to the World Heritage Site of Sintra. If you wish to visit places further afield, please ask us about our day excursions. There is another bus service which stops just across the road from the house called Giro which will take you to Cascaishopping where there are shops, a food court, hairdressers, a technical help center, etc. From Cascais, there is a regular bus service to Guincho Beach, #405. The #403 will get you to Sintra. The train service runs from 5 am until 1:30 am and the trains run every 20 minutes approx.
