The Acropolis Museum is a 20-minute walk away, and from there do not miss the colorful Monastiraki flea market and the lively Thissio cafes, especially Cafe Avissinia with its excellent food and a great view. Just round the corner from the apartment is the Onassis Cultural Center which hosts interesting cultural events and a little further down is the National Museum of Contemporary Art where you can discover Greek as well as international artists.
