THIS IS FOR RENTING OUT THE LARGER BEDROOM ONLY: the one with the green wall in the pictures. A spacious room that could easily fit a couple or two people willing to share a room. Also perfect for one person, wishing to have plenty of personal space while having one flatmate in the apartment. We are looking for people to stay at our little gem in the heart of Reykjavík. The apartment is located at the best spot in town and is within walking distance to everything downtown. The universities are nearby, only a 15-minute walk to the University of Iceland. The apartment is cozy, spacious, colorful and full of positive atmosphere. The entryway has a good closet for your coats, from there you can enter all five rooms of the apartment: -A large room with two single beds or one double. -A large room with a double bed and a balcony, overlooking our small garden. -A spacious living room with a dining table, sofa, couch, TV, books etc. -A small but stylish bathroom including a bathtub. -A retro kitchen, which is well equipped, and has everything you might need to make a mighty meal! -You will have access to a washing machine in (hidden)ment. The apartment can accommodate up to three people since the larger bedroom can easily fit a couple or two people willing to share a bedroom. The balcony-bedroom is only intended for one person. Apartment size: 85.7 m2 plus a 2.6 m2 balcony. ACCESS Everything in downtown Reykjavík is within walking distance from the apartment. The location is between Hallgrímskirkja and BSÍ (the airport bus terminal in Reykjavík) with both being only 5 min away from the apartment on foot. The universities are nearby, only 15 and 30-minute walks to the University of Iceland and University of Reykjavík, respectively. There is free parking on the streets around of the apartment, which is situated just beyond the paid-parking zone of Reykjavík. We are on the corner of Bergstaðastræti and Baldursgata, which is the first street of the free-parking zone. Be sure not to cross Baldursgata and you have free parking. Almost every activity or tour pick-up location will be within walking distance and the airport transportation could hardly be closer by. Should you need to get somewhere specifically within the capital area, there are plenty of bus stops nearby which can take you anywhere you might need to go. NEIGHBORHOOD Despite being close to the city center and nightlife, the street is far enough away to be quiet and family friendly, even during weekends. The neighborhood is called "Goðahverfið" because of the names of the streets such as Baldursgata, Þórsgata and Óðinsgata. The neighborhood was originally meant to be called Ásgarður but the name did not stick with the locals. Geographically, it is situated on Skólavörðuholt or Skólavörðu-hill. There to be found is the most beautiful street in Reykjavík, Skólavörðustígur, which runs down from Hallgrímskirkja to Laugavegur. Being on a hill allows for the special circumstances of the apartment being on the first floor / ground floor when walking in, but having a balcony on the back!
