Dr. RAVIKANT (hidden) is an Associate Professor & Atmospheric Scientist in the department of Chemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is an IIT ( Indian Institute of Technology) Bombay (India) and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA alum. He has contributed, as a lead author, in many research articles in peer reviewed international journals of aerosol and air quality research. His research interests include air pollution chemistry and role of atmospheric aerosol in climate change. Currently, Dr. (hidden) is also heading the University of Gothenburg’s research project “Indo Gangetic Plains – Center for Air Research and Education (IGP-CARE), in rural India at Hamirpur U.P. He is collaborating with more than two dozen academic institutions globally including USA, Europe, China, Japan, India. On the other hand, he is also a social reformer, entrepreneur and actionist focusing on sustainability and agricultural practices, environmental protection, inhumane practices/traditions, e.g. untouchability, disparity of caste system, gender discrimination etc. and experiments of educational reforms in India. Dr. (hidden) is greatly inspired by Gandhian thoughts and currently working on the vision of Gram-Swaraj. His ground works are located in the ravines of Betwa River in Hamirpur, (U.P.), India. He is also working on an economic model for rural sustainable development with focus on organic farming.
Dr. (hidden) is an unique personality as a combination of a scientist, an environmental thinker, a farmer, a poet and a social reformer. People with such a deep devotion to the nation are rare and they are a great inspiration to many others. India needs such young, educated, visionary and devoted social workers to take the country to newer heights and bring a true transformation at the grassroots in India.
