Dear visitors. Welcome to our beautiful and hospitable home! The house that hosts you, has been restored and renovated and it ensures maximum functionality and comfort to its guests. It was a permanent residence of two large families and occasionally hosted several friends and relatives before welcoming you. The house consists of three different buildings: The Venetian building which was one of the two twin vaulted buildings that were used as warehouses during the Venetian rule. This is why it is known as "Tholos" meaning “dome”. When it was bought by its first resident Evangelos (hidden) of Georgios, there were only the East and the West walls. The vaulted roof had fallen, and so had the South and North walls. The second building was created in the 1930s and the vaulted roof was replaced by a concrete flat roof. In the 1940s, another new building was added to the existing Venetian building, and the house could finally meet the needs of its new owner. In our home you will enjoy: A comfortable kitchen, comfortable dining room, 3 bedrooms (with 1 double bed, 1 single bed and a baby cot in the first bedroom, 1 double bed and 1 single bed in the second bedroom and 1 double bed in the third bedroom). The two bedrooms belong to the Venetian building and communicate with internal wooden staircase. There are also 2 bathrooms (one upstairs and one on the ground floor, outside), balconies with mountain and sea views and a comfortable courtyard. Our house has all the necessary hotel equipment in order to meet your main needs during your stay. The decoration of the house consists of simple, authentic, traditional furniture, and other objects adapted to its character. Some of the furniture in our house has been preserved since 1940 and is a family heirloom. Inside the living room of the house, there is a water tank carved into solid rock. In times when there was no water supply network, rainwater from the roof of the house was transported to the tank and stored, so as to meet the needs of the household. The house is located in the center of the village "Archontiki" of the Municipality of Rethymno. Archontiki (or Arkoudaina) is one of the protected traditional settlements in the prefecture of Rethymno, characterized as such by a presidential decree. The village preserves in good condition many buildings characteristic of the Venetian occupation, with their special architectural physiognomy, numerous characteristic stairs, winding streets, loggias, etc. although it was completely burned by the Turks in 1866. The whole settlement is a historical monument, with a protection radius of 1 km from its visible boundaries. Ancient Lappa is located in the neighboring village of Argyroupoli, as well as its impressive Roman cemetery. A vaulted tomb of the 2nd millennium BC has been found in the neighboring village of Fylaki. The European path E4 passes through a neighboring village. Archontiki is 4 km away from the springs of Argyroupoli, 12 km from the lake of Kournas, 4 km from the beach of Episkopi, 24 km from Rethymno, 13.4 km from Georgioupolis, 10 km from Asi Gonia, 53.4 km from Chania.
