Turin offers a wide selection of courses to appeal to incoming international students. In fact, many of Turin’s universities and schools are among the most well-known in the world.

University of Turin

Università degli Studi di Torino, or the University of Turin, is one of the most prestigious and oldest universities throughout Italy, also boasting a total of 27 departments. These departments include courses for Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, Graduates Studies and single-cycle degrees. Access is also offered to Scuola di Studi Superiori Ferdinando Rossi, a higher education institution for University Studies, offering many interdisciplinary courses.

Additionally, the University of Turin’s Medical Diagnostic, Nanotechnologies and Biosensoristics research centers are considered to be some of the best in Italy. Plus some of the degree courses are considered unique in Italy, like Military Strategy, Sports Sciences, Biotechnology and Restoration and Conservation.

The University of Turin’s research in more traditional areas is also world-class, such as in philosophy, history, law, medicine and economics. It is also branching out further into social politics, food science, IT, communication sciences and performing arts.

Polytechnic University of Turin

The Politecnico di Torino, or the Polytechnic University of Turin, is considered a Research University, with its focus on research, study and innovation. It also boasts 800 agreements with companies and area organisations, along with over 32,000 students, enrolled in courses for engineering and architecture, with the option to achieve a double degree.

Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti

The degrees from Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti illustrate the highest level in arts education, and they are recognized as a university degree. Each course offers three years of First Level Higher Education and two years of specialization, along with core courses, theoretical-scientific courses and a variety of other activities with the opportunity to receive 60 free credits.

Student Associations

  • ESN Torino

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) has the largest student association in Europe, and it’s also non-profit. It was set up in 1989 and registered in 1990 to support student exchanges from all over the world. ESN focuses on setting up events and activities for exchange students to help their acclimation into their new environment and culture. They also provide an international atmosphere for students who are not able to study abroad.


AIESEC is an international student organisation that focuses on identifying leadership skills among students. They also partner with other centers to assist in setting up internships and volunteer opportunities.


AEGEE is one of the largest interdisciplinary student organisations, focusing on a borderless Europe through democracy. Plus, AEGEE, a non-profit organisation, is available to all students, regardless of their choice of study, and is politically independent. Founded in Paris in 1985, AEGEE has since become a network of 13,000 friends, with a presence in 200 cities, located in 40 countries throughout Europe.
